Two Individuals Charged for Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder following the jailhouse death of ex-Lostprophets frontman and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) stand indicted for homicide and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by investigating officers.

Watkins, 48 years old, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were confiscated.
